Gene Fourney | President

Gene Fourney is a 25 year seasoned advertising and marketing veteran, Gene oversees new business development and as wells as advertising and marketing projects at The Highlands Group. Prior to the startup of The Highlands Group, Gene Fourney worked as a marketing consultant to New England Outdoor Center, the largest outdoor resort in Maine. Gene also oversaw sales and marketing for an Internet Service Provider, web design, ecommerce and IT consulting company in Raleigh, NC. His company was ranked the 5th largest ISP in the Raleigh, NC market in 1999 by Triangle Business Journal servicing over 7,500 residential and corporate customers. He also worked as Manager of Motorsports Network Radio Programming for Capitol Sports Networks, a division of Capitol Broadcasting in Raleigh, NC for an 8 year period, growing the network from 50 stations to over 400 radio stations with over 2.5 million listeners nationally. Gene Fourney was also responsible for overseeing live network radio broadcasts for the Grand National Series as well as Winston Cup and Grand National network radio broadcasts at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Luke Bolin | Graphic Designer/Video & Flash Producer

Luke Bolin is a seasoned graphic design and multimedia artist with over ten years of experience. He has produced numerous award winning websites and ad campaigns on both the regional and national level. Luke previously worked as an Art Director for Smith, Kaplan, Allen and Reynolds in Omaha, Nebraska working on major accounts including Blue Cross Blue Shield, The Salvation Army and Commercial Federal Bank. Luke Bolin also has worked as a freelancer producing outdoor advertising and print design for Nebraska State Bank.

Mike Hamers | Graphic Designer & Illustrator

Mike Hamers has 30 years experience as a graphic designer and illustrator servicing biotech, nanotechnology, software, and other high-tech manufacturing clients including Ball Aerospace, Colorado Bioscience Association, Colorado RFID Association, Denver Biomedical, Harley-Davidson, Medtronics, Mobil Oil, Myogen, National Science Foundation, NewWest Mezzanine Funds, Wired Magazine, and w3w3 Talk Radio. Mike’s work has been included in several design publications and he has also won numerous national awards for his logo and collateral design.

Renee Harvey | Graphic Design, Layout & PrePress Production

Renée Harvey is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of graphic design experience. Renée specializes in print design and prepress production. Renée’s knowledge, experience and creativity have been invaluable to us when doing print work for our clients. Renée has worked in with a variety of printers including Centennial Printing, Boulder Printing, Alpha Graphics and EPS-Doublet, a large format printer.

Derek Stoering | Graphic Design, Web Design and Flash Production

Derek Stoering worked as an intern for The Highlands Group during the Summer of 2007 assisting with various client projects including the Colorado Film Commission, Dr. Banjo, Schwander Insurance, Race Across America and our own corporate website and marketing materials. After his internship, Derek was hired on a part-time basis to assist with additional for web and graphic design projects. He is currently a student at The Art Institute of Colorado and is expected to graduate in December of 2007. Derek is originally from Minnesota and moved to Denver to attend the Art Institute. He studies Interactive Media Design which includes web design, graphic design, motion graphics and programming for the web.

Charlie Snyder | Film/Video Producer

Charles Snyder has worked in film and video production for more than twenty five years,mainly in the capacity of a director of photography and lighting director. He has taught video production and lighting at Red Rocks Community College and has presented production seminars at numerous colleges including Colorado University at Boulder, Ames Community College and the Emerging Film Makers Group at the Bug Theater. Prior projects include television commercial production for Furniture Row and Burt Automotive; training video for The Transportation Safety Administration (TSA); and numerous 30 second spots for the Veteran Administration.

Cecelia Fresh | Public Relations

Cecelia Fresh assists our clients with their public relations efforts including PR campaign planning and execution, creation of media kits, writing and distribution of press releases to local and national publications, PR crisis management and speech writing. Cecelia has over 10 years experience in the Public Relations industry including writing and editing press releases, product manuals, white papers plus sales and trade show collateral for freelance assignments with Ziff Davis, Ultimate Electronics and Wild Oats Markets. She has also worked as Marcom Manager for Hewlett Packard, responsible for all internal and external communications for the HP Digital Sender division where she wrote product manuals, white papers, development of marketing collateral for new packaging rollout plus trade show collateral. Cecelia also worked as a Public Affairs Intern for National Jewish Medical and Research Center and Denver Zoo writing, editing and distributing press releases and writing feature articles for both local media and national medical journals. Cecelia Fresh received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree from the University of Colorado in 1999 and Masters in Applied Communications from the University of Denver in 2006.

Andy Deitel | Sales/Marketing Consultant

Andy Deitel currently assists The Highlands Group with outsourced advertising and marketing client campaigns. He has worked in the marketing/sales arena for over 25 years and has vast experience doing special event marketing and advertising sales, having represented such publications as the Vail Valley Dining Guide, the Telluride Dining Guide, Dining in Aspen and the Telluride Styles Magazine. He previously worked for the Brooklyn Sports Foundation where he marketed and managed special events, including sports auctions and Division 1 athletics. In addition to working with The Highlands Group, Andy Deitel represents the Harrahs Casino properties to clientele in Colorado and travels around the country conducting charity auctions for Sports Marketing Entertainment Group non-profit clients including the Walter Peyton Memorial Golf Outing and Garth Brooks Foundation Teammates for Kids.

Himangshu Sekhar Sahoo | PHP, MySQL, CGI/Perl, Java, ASP.Net Programming

The Highlands Group has had a 4 year relationship with Himangshu Sekhar Sahoo and his 10 person programming firm based in Calcutta, India that provides various database, custom content management systems, ecommerce and electronic payment gateway programming services for our clients. They have historically delivered quality PHP, MySQL, CGI/Perl, Java, JSP, ASP.Net and SQL programming services exceeding our customers expectations in terms of delivery and cost.
